The next generation of global citizens, leaders and innovators
Academy U is a three-year program providing unique challenges and learning opportunities for high potential students to grow their competencies in areas such as leadership, community impact and critical thinking, preparing them to become ºÚÁÏÉç’s next generation of global citizens, leaders and innovators.Â
Academy U students and their families begin and conclude their journey at the Academy U Futures Evening, where new students embark on their pathway into ºÚÁÏÉç and the Academy U community, and graduating students are celebrated for their achievements and milestones
Year 10
Across the year, students take part in two inspiring on-campus experience days that build leadership, collaboration and real-world problem-solving skills.
In the Sustainable Futures Hackathon, studentswork in teams to tackle real-world challengeslinked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Guided by industrymentors, they collaborate, research and pitch their innovative solutions to a panel of experts.
The Leadership and Social Change Symposium empowers students to explore their purpose and leadership style through interactive workshops led by ºÚÁÏÉç’s research institutes and key academics. They’ll engage with themes of equity, purpose and communityimpact - preparing to embrace university studyin Year 11 with confidence and a clear sense of direction for their future.
Year 11
Drawing from the industry leading Bachelor of Creative Leadership and delivered in conjunction with academics from The Academy, ºÚÁÏÉç’s institute for high-potential tertiary students, Academy U learners will become ºÚÁÏÉç students completing the first-year university subject ‘Leadership in Complexity’. Â
Successful completion, with a pass or above, will provide students an early conditional offer to study at ºÚÁÏÉç and award academic credit for the subject upon transition to ºÚÁÏÉç.
Year 12
Academy U students completing their Year 12 studies will have the opportunity to attend the Future Student Engagement Year 12 Conference, a signature information and networking event. With over 35 area of study sessions to select from, students will leave feeling confident and excited about their future study prospects.
The Academy U team will visit students in-school for 1:1 career and future study consultations, providing personalised support as they begin planning their transition to university.
Finally, we look forward to joining with our Academy U community and celebrating student achievements at our Graduation Ceremony in June.
