Shared Medical Appointments for Endometriosis
About the Study
Group medical visits are a new way to deliver healthcare, giving you the chance to meet other people with endometriosis and learn from each other鈥檚 experiences, as well as have regular consultations with a GP.
黑料社 is looking for people with endometriosis to trial a group medical visit program from a GP and a naturopath. The group medical visits involve a consultation with a GP, and an education session led by a naturopath in a group setting with up to nine other people with endometriosis. You will learn more about endometriosis and discuss health and wellness topics related to pain, nutrition, stress and sleep and have an opportunity to learn a short yoga practice for chronic pain.
The study starts in September.
Who Can Participate?
We invite women who:
- Are aged 18 or over
- Have been diagnosed with endometriosis
- Are able to attend the WSIH Myhealth Integrative Medical Centre at Westmead for group medical visits
What's Involved?
- Attend one on-line meeting
- Complete surveys about your health and general information
- Attend six group medical visits at WSIH Myhealth, Westmead. The appointments will be face to face on Tuesdays at 4:00-5:30pm every two weeks for 13 weeks from September until November.
- Dates: 8th Sept, 22nd Sept, 13th Oct, 27th Oct, 10th Nov, 24th Nov
What are the benefits?
- Receive medical care for free (six consultations with a GP)
- Receive health education on managing endometriosis
- Meet other people with endometriosis
- There will be no cost for this program
